Illegal Immigrants and the issue of Student Loans

Everyone should have the right to education. Everyone. Whether they are natural born citizens or migrated to this country. The issue is not that people believe illegal immigrants don’t have the right to go higher education. The issue is whether or not these children who were brought to this country illegally should receive the benefit of federal loans and grants, the same way that someone who is a natural born citizen has the right to these aids.

Romney’s unsupportive efforts towards US immigrant opportunities are apparent

Illegal Immigrants should not have the right to federal student loans. Just to make that clear I’ll repeat myself; ILLEGAL. Someone with no legal status in the United States should not have the same access to federal money as someone who is here legally or born here. I am not saying they should be denied the right to education or go to college, but it is not fair that someone who has been living and working here legally should be turned away from federal money because it was given to someone here illegally.

People who live and work here legally have been paying into the system and therefore should receive the benefits, they should be the ones to reap the benefits. Illegal Immigrants who don’t pay taxes, should not be able to turn around and get free money to go to school. There is no argument against America being a place where people can come together to chase their dreams, they just might have to find other means. Most people would agree, immigrants with green cards or visa’s should be eligible, but certainly not immigrants with no legal status.

The Final Countdown: Obama prioritizes college affordability, immigration reform

In the final minutes of the election, President Obama puts priority over immigration and college affordability. However, Mitt Romney has prioritized improving the economy and increasing military spending in the final voting minutes. An educated nation helps to build a strong economy in the long-run. Obama’s educational goals are and will make for a better America! Vote for Obama 2012!

The truth about American student loans is…

Image

It’s a vicious cycle! Like the cannibalistic beast that devours its young. American student loans do much the same. The beast gives its young life, just as the loans give the students a chance to attend school. But what use is that chance to get a better job to help yourself and the economy when the very thing that gave you the chance to achieve that, ends up becoming one of the main reasons that you can’t achieve those goals? The answer is simple, Vote for Obama’s “Pay as You Earn” plan! It will bring a well-educated and productive society back to America!

Education: “Are we better off than we were four years ago?”

In late August, the Romney campaign brought out one their greatest believed strengths against the Obama Campaign. Stretching across many social media platforms and traditional media platforms, the question of “Are you better off than you were four years ago?” was proposed by presidential candidate Mitt Romney.

The Republican Party has indicated that Obama has set back the future of education in America drastically. While he has presented a strong “Pay as You Earn” plan that will help students with debt make smaller payments for a set period of time, he has failed to mention the astronomical amount of debt per student and the rising unemployment rate. As a result, Obama’s plans for America’s future on education has backfired. The Romney Campaign has also expressed that Obama’s misguided economic principles have set back an entire generation of Americans. Under this approach, the coast of a college education has risen by 25 percent, and student debt has reached a record $1 trillion.

While Romney’s campaign really got the American people to think about their future, it failed terribly. For example, Romney’s hash tag twitter campaign #areyoubetteroff backfired as twitter participants answered “yes, we are better than we were four years ago.” According to PRNewser, #areyoubetteroff was combined with the word “yes” more than 1,800 times in its first 24 hours, while it was only paired with “no” around 600 times during the same time period. Some citizens even took the liberty to create their own hash tag movements such as #iambetter. Among the many things that Obama has improved over the past four years, a better education system and easier accessibility to higher education are among the most successful.

Under the Obama campaign, student loans will be affordable by eliminating the middle men and putting more money into pell grants. These pell grants enabled more than 9 million students to go to college in 2012 and will continue to allow students to attend college if Obama is elected. Obama’s “Pay as You Earn” plan will allow high-income and low-income students to make payments at 10% of their discretionary income. This will reduce monthly payments significantly and ultimately reduce stress over the inability to make those payments for young people trying to get on their feet. An educated America has a bright future if we can keep student loans affordable, develop educated young men and women, and make them productive citizens in our society. All in all, we are better off than we were four years ago.

Touching Lives through Obama’s Education Plan

Under Obama’s new educational plan, “middle men” will be taken out of the picture. As a result, more money will be allocated and given in the form of pell grants to students. In 2012, 9 million students were awarded pell grants and given the opportunity to attend higher education institutions. Watch “Faces of Change: Dakota’s Pell Grant”, a real life story about a bright and intelligent young man named Dakota. His story is heart warming and gives our nation hope for a bright and successful future under Obama’s education plan.
